HISTORY
Although the
Dumbleton Memorial Foursomes, so named in memory of the late
Colonel H N Dumbleton, Honorary Secretary of the County Union
from 1912 to 1935, have been played since 1936, no trophies for
this event existed until 1963. In that year Francis H Holmes,
then County Captain, and R John Holmes, Honorary Secretary of
the County Union, presented two silver trophies to be held for
one year by the winners.
