HISTORY
Boys aged 12 to
21 years of age inclusive.
In 1951 to
commemorate the first Junior Championship Meeting being played
on the course of the Blackmoor Golf Club, Colonel R Weddell,
Secretary of that Club, presented a cup to be held for one year
by the winner of this scratch stroke play event. From 1951
unril 1968 play was over 18 holes, since 1969 it has been over
36 holes. In 1994 the County Union Centenary Salver presented to
the Union by the English Golf Union took the place of the
original cup. In 1986 the age limit changed from 18 - 21 to the
current limits and the Championship was played as a separate
Championship and not part of the Junior Championship Meeting.
