Hampshire's Hutsby runner-up in British Amateur Championship

Liphook's Sam Hutsby narrowly loses to the youngest ever winner in the 124 year history of the prestigious event - Matteo Manassero, at only 16 years of age is also the first Italian to win the event.

Manassero will take his place in the starting line-up at next month's Open at Turnberry and has also earned himself an invitation to next year's US Masters. More....

Jonathan Watt in Open Final Qualifying

Brokenhurst Manor's Jonathan Watt shot 70 at Ferndown to earn himself a place in Final Qualiying for the Open. He joins Sam Hutsby who was exempt Regional Qualifying and past Hampshire Amateurs Matt Allen, Nick Redfern and Stuart Archibald who also qualified.

Darren Wright (Rowlands Castle) is a reserve as are Brokenhurst Manor's Bruce Parker and Tylney Park's Alasdair Hay.

2009 Junior Pro-Am at Hockley - 17th August

Entries are now being accepted for this year's Junior Pro-Am. Numbers will be limited for this popular event sponsored by the Patrons of the Hampshire PGA so don't hesitate. Entrants are required to submit a parental consent form.
