Our Seniors Team started the SE Counties League (South) season with a win over Surrey at Rowlands Castle.

 

Surrey sent a very strong Seniors side for the match, including past and present English Senior Internationals and an ex Tour player. They had defeated Kent away at West Kent last week 7 and half to 2 and a half.

 

The match was hard fought and after 6 matches were concluded the scores were 3 games all - with the remaining 4 games evenly balanced and in progress. As those games were played to a conclusion the scales tipped in Hampshire's favour, with the eventual result being a 6 and half point to 3 and a half point victory for Hampshire.

 

 

Congratulations to Phill Evans (Royal Jersey) and David McMillan (Hayling) who both made their Senior Team debut and achieved a win and a half respectively.

 

Next Match is away to Sussex next Monday (10th July) at Bognor Regis G.C.
