Oscar triumphs again! County Seniors Champion

Hampshire County Seniors Championship 2022

After finishing second, four times over the years, Oscar O'Herlihy (Basingtoke Golf Club) finally made it over the line to become the 2022 Hampshire Seniors Champion.

Oscar shot an excellent 107 (+2) over the 27 holes at Brokenhurst Manor Golf Club. The course was beautiful but playing tough. The Stoneham pairing of Richard Elmes and Martin Milne finished 2nd & 3rd with scores of 108 & 109 respectively. Richard was the clubhouse leader, with Oscar realistically being the only player left on the course that could beat him....but Oscars fine level par on the final 9 holes, was enough to win by one. A very close finish.

Paul Taylor from Romsey Golf Club was the only player on the day to have a score 'in the red' as he won the Pechell Trophy for the best overall nett, with scores of 69 & 35 for a 2 under total of 104. Paul won by 2 shots from Andy Macey (Bramshaw) & Alan Wilson (Romsey).
