In a friendly fixture aimed at providing the squad with valuable experience following a series of training days, the Under-12 teams from Hampshire and Dorset met at Sturminster Marshall Golf Club. The short but excellently presented course set the stage for an educational day of golf, with Hampshire eager to put their series of training days into practice.
Hampshire approached the match with enthusiasm and determination, seeking valuable experience against a formidable Dorset side. Despite their best efforts, the Hampshire team faced tough competition throughout the day. Dorset's players demonstrated exceptional skill and consistency, which ultimately proved decisive.
The match concluded with Dorset securing a commanding 9-3 victory. Hampshire, though defeated, gained significant experience from the encounter. Their young players showed resilience and bags of potential, which will serve them well in future competitions. Special mention must go to Harry Oatley who, in his first ever experience of competitive match play rose to the occasion claiming 1.5 points from the day and becoming the only Hampshire player to go undefeated on the day.
