In another notable match, Luke and Rob found themselves three down but mounted a spectacular comeback. Their birdies on the 14th, 15th, and 17th holes secured a hard-fought 2&1 victory, showcasing their resilience and determination.

The pairs of Rich Harris and Joe Foster, along with North Hants Club Champion Charlie Preston and his club mate James Atkins, also won their matches comfortably, giving Hampshire a commanding 4-0 lead to enjoy at lunch!

Afternoon Singles

The team talks delivered before the foursomes and singles emphasised individual responsibility, urging each player to secure their points without relying on others. The players responded brilliantly to this call to action, demonstrating their commitment and focus. Team Hampshire know that every point can count, so headed in to the singles with enthusiasm.

The momentum continued into the afternoon singles. Special mention goes to Charlie, who celebrated his 18th birthday with style by winning both of his matches. His performance was a testament to his talent and composure under pressure, showing great maturity on a such a young pair of shoulders.

Three North Hants members led the charge in the singles matches, setting a high standard with their performances. Their victories in the first three matches of the afternoon were pivotal, ensuring that Hampshire maintained their dominance throughout the day.

The overall result was a resounding 11-1 victory for Hampshire, reflecting the team's unity, skill, and determination. This exceptional performance has set a high benchmark for the last match of the season and highlighted the depth of talent within the squad.

We go in to the last league match away at Kent, knowing that a win secures Hampshire the League and books our place in the final in September.
