Hampshire Golf Celebrates Strong Junior Representation in the South England Regional Squads
This prestigious programme plays a vital role in the national performance pathway, guiding talented juniors from county golf into the England Golf National Squads. Designed to nurture the next generation of elite players, it focuses on developing golfers capable of performing and ultimately winning at both national and international levels.
This season, Hampshire is delighted to have a significant number of juniors involved across the squads. Their selection reflects not only their hard work and dedication but also the strength of junior golf within our county.

England Golf Deputy Performance Director Steve Burnett highlights the importance of the pathway, saying:
“England Golf aims to support a strong, aligned and inclusive performance pathway from club to national level, in order to identify, recruit, develop, support and retain world class golfers capable of performing and winning at the highest levels of amateur golf.
The Regional Performance Programme is a vital part of the pathway… it bridges the gap for young players showing promise at county level to push on and improve sufficiently to go on and play for England in the near future.”
The Regional Squads have long been a platform for producing world class players, and we are excited to see Hampshire’s juniors continue that legacy. Their achievements not only inspire the next generation of golfers within our clubs but also strengthen the county’s reputation for developing outstanding young talent.
